Saffron rice
Saffron rice may not be something that many people have
tried thanks to the cost of saffron, but there are people throughout
the world who have tried it and enjoy it.
Saffron rice is a dish that is pretty simple, but very tasty. The main
ingredients of the dish are saffron, white rice and usually some kind
of a vegetable bouillon. This kind of rice is found in the menus of
a variety of countries, even though the dish may vary from place to
place.
One place where this dish is quite popular is India. The dish does
vary a bit because although the saffron rice dish is made from basmati
rice, saffron and a vegetable bouillon, it is also made with other items.
The Indian dish includes items like butter and bay leaves as well.
Turkey is another country that eats a different variety of dishes with
saffron. In Turkey, saffron rice is called Zerde and includes white
rice, saffron, table sugar, chopped pistachios and roasted pine seeds.
Wherever it is that the saffron rice is served, saffron provides the
most pungent flavoring and is always the featured part of the dish.
